Loopback device support allows you to mount a file as a device.
For example, you could mount an ISO9660 image file as a CD-ROM
or a floppy image file as if it were a disk.

No, I think the answer is right.  I believe that this is discussed
in one of the SCSI how-tos.  I need to look into this myself
since I want to boot off a PCI card IDE interface and I believe
the same problems apply.  I'll post back when I find out more --

Where did you get this info?  If it's out, I haven't seen it.
There are a couple of new books for Sair certification which
are about to be published though.  A new exam cram for the
sysadmin test, Sair Linux/GNU System Administration Exam Cram:
Exam 3X0-102, which was supposed to be available earlier this
month (Aug.3rd) and McGraw-Hill's SAIR Linux & GNU Certified
Administrator All-in-One Exam Guide, which is due out in the
middle of October.
