[CLUE-Cert] program to discover devices

I found a program called discover that tries to identify a system's 
hardware.  It looks like Progeny created it for its Debian distribution 
and it is now a standard part of Debian.  I wonder if this is what 
Knoppix uses?  It will be interesting to try using it.  Do any other 
distros have anything similar?

I guess the next step is to find out why I can't create bootable Linux 
CD's anymore.
