That's an interesting observation.  I tape live music, some bands allow it
some bands don't.  Most bands had no problem with people bringing in taping
gear and recording prior to 1988.  In '88 the first Sony portable DAT
machine came out and many artists went from largely unconcerned to a
vehemently anti-taping stance...
