Assuming you are being legit and not sarcastic Dave, John "Maddog" Hall.
Nice guy, spoken and meet with him in person a few times.  He is the
boss of Linux International goes around promoting Linux and LPI a bit.
Just make sure if you decide to "debate his views" you have your facts
lined up since he is pretty good and knowledgeable about Linux as a
whole.  He is also considered one of Linus' right hand men in the US.

There has been this thread on certs vs. training some on the LPI lists
which I am guessing spilled over elsewhere.
