You can script FTP easily by redirecting the input.
ftp ftp.netscape.com<getlots.ftp
Then getlots.ftp has something like:
anonymous
bob at netscape.com
cd /pub/programs/w3/communicator/3.0g
get ns1630g.exe
quit
