In ftp, use the mget command rather than get, and use wildcards or a list of
files you want.  You'll likely want to use the prompt command to turn off a
prompt for each file.

This can be cumbersome for files in multiple directories, so there are also
rsync and wget programs.  I haven't used them but they seem popular.
