I'll add to that list.  I've used an Linksys 10/100 Ethernet USB device with
2.2.18.  There are apparently two kinds of chips used for USB Ethernet, the
ones based on the 'Pegasus' chips seem to work more reliabily that the ones
based on the 'Kawasaki' chip.
