[CLUE-Talk] Linux Certification

Bill (and anyone else interested),

ITEC does LPIC-1 training presently, and Mandrake (I think we
have 8.2 now in the wallets) is one of the seven distros included
in the package. Granted, this is an indirect version of
what Mandrake is offering, but same idea overall, training
and educating towards the LPIC-1. ITEC also has contact
with Mandrake (among a few others) directly as well in
regards to training and certification issues.

Most likely the reason the article did not include this
as a "certification" is that presently, there is only
the RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE), SAIR Linux and
GNU, LPI, and CompTIA Linux+ out there as the "top
certifications" presently in Linux (yes, there are a few
other ones on the books I do admit). Caldera still
has a program as well, but has been moving towards LPI
orientation over the past several months. I presume
Mandrake is doing a similar idea at this point in time
since it is more cost effective from a business point of
view to let another group do the "dirty work". LPI is
designed to be Linux distribution neutral, hence solution
is present.

Feel free to email me directly for more details off list.
For reference, hit our web site, the Education link, the
courses are LPI-101 and LPI-102. Class room location is
in the DTC area (near I-25 and Bellevue).
