Ooh!  Ooh!  I know!

Says yank into buffer a up to the >.  t is up to the character (and you 
can use t2> to go to the second one and so on).  T will go backwards up 
to the character you type.  f and F are similar but include the 
character you type.  Very handy.

BTW, you left the y for yank out of your second choice.
