And to compliment this reply with your thought #1 (move the cursor to
's' in 'width'), once you get to the line, don't use 'l' to get to the
'w' (or--horror of horrors--don't use the right arrow key).  Instead once
you get to the line just type:
fw

So, once you're on the line, the entire sequence is:
fw"ayt>

If for some reason your cursor is to the right of the 'w', then just
make the 'f' uppercase:
Fw"ayt>
