My first reaction was "oh shit".  It would be like that Swiss company 
buying Ben and Jerry's where they got the product but trashed the 
culture, missing the hole point.  I'm still not convinced that isn't 
the proper reaction.

OTOH, AOL is a marketing juggernaut.  Something like it is probably 
needed to stick it to MSFT.  I could see this working if AOL did it 
right.

OTOH, 1) that didnt work for Netscape, and 2) AOL brought us endless 
September.  Can you picture AOL users posting to clue-tech asking 
where the any key is?

I think I'll stick to "oh shit".

I wonder what Linus thinks.
