    as best i understand it, there are
    three large groups of people in iraq:

    shiite muslims and sunni muslims,
    who pretty much hate each others'
    guts

    kurds, who don't even want to be in
    iraq.  they consider themselves a
    completely different people and would
    like to have their own country and
    government.
