You (and many others) are assuming that GWB is telling the truth about the
lack of Intel. Please note that a republican lead investigation into 9/11
determined that there was more than enough intel to do something. Think about
Y2K, when SS, FBI, CIA, and NSA were crawling all over Seattle?
Do you think that there was a reason for it or do you think that it was a
simple exercise to have more than 200 extra agents flown in?
Are you suggesting that the Intel available to Clinton was superior to that
available to GWB?
BTW, this does not mean that Intel gathering is easy. Far from it. But I do
not think that enough credit is being given to those who do this work (and in
some cases give their lives ).
Do not get me wrong. I know that there are "WMD" or good building potential in
Iraq. But it was not a good reason to go after Iraq. Every other single
country has the same capability of building Biological or Chemical weapons.
What Iraq (and most countries) lack is a way to deliver these weapons. In
fact, only a handful of nations have the capability to deliver beyond about
1000 Miles:
USA, Britain, France, Russia, India, China, Brazil, Japan and North Korea.
