I usually send resumes in PDF format which is pretty easy for most folks
to deal with nowadays with a note in the e-mail about where to find
versions in MS-Word, & ASCII Text via a URL on my webserver. Just like
customers, it's always best to give anyone viewing your product a
CHOICE. ;-)
