In November things do change for the better.  I'll be able to get back to
I think Broadway station from DTC, from there I can take a C or D line
back to Mineral station before 22:12 for the last 401 of the evening.

Failing that, it's really only about a mile and a half from Santa Fe to
Platt Canyon, which is walkable, or a $5 cab ride once it gets colder
enough that I wouldn't want to walk.

That's a ways off though.
