Does the SATA card work as just a bunch of drives?   I don't care if the 
RAID support works, but the ability to add more SATA drives may be 
worthwhile.   I am in Debian land, though, and I probably don't want to 
try to showhorn a RedHat specific driver in.   I might be able to, but I 
am too lazy.
