I don't think the issue is "Solving problems". Unless the problem is
unsolvable, it will be solved. It's when they start doing things like:

"How little can we spend and solve this problem?"
"Will we get paid if we fail?"
"Lets see if we can still solve problems after reducing headcount."

and adding other qualifiers that things stop working.
