This ought to scare you:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=linux&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0
But, this should help:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=linux%2C+ubuntu&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0
As should this:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=microsoft%2C+linux%2C+ubuntu&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0
And this:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=linux+OR+ubuntu&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0
My quick analysis: linux is fading, but specific distros are growing
in popularity and the net effect is continued growth of Linux/FOSS in
general.
About distrowatch.com -
http://trends.google.com/websites?q=distrowatch.com&geo=all&date=all
Seems that it is fading a bit as well.
Regards,
Greg
