The only way to improve is to push yourself outside your comfort zone.  Though it can help if someone provides a path to follow.

This tutorial focuses on VirtualBox.  Since VirtualBox is cross-platform, these instructions should be applicable regardless of which OS is the host.  Google is your friend.

You don't need to fully understand what's going on under the hood to use a VM, but it doesn't hurt to learn.  These are good starting points:

Subject: [clue-talk] virtualization

Brian Gibson mentioned Virtualization. I thought that was for intermediate and advanced computer users. I don't understand terms like kernel acceleration and hardware acceleration and software virtualization. And the programs would be installed along with the OS inside the space set aside for the virtual OS? Is there some kind of beginnner's tutorial on Virtualization?
