I'm glad this discussion finally took off. That gratifies my ego and 
makes me feel that I am not wasting my time by raising dumb discussion 
topics!

I looked up "netburst" in wikipedia. I started to understand some of it. 
There was something about increasing from a 10 stage pipeline to a 31 
stage pipeline, which gives you better performance at lower clock 
speeds. This is all so confusing. I can't imagine that. All I can think 
of is an oil pipeline.

Do the current operating systems and applications take full advantage of 
mutliple cores or multi-threading? Are those the same things?
