[CLUE-Tech] hosts.allow / deny sending a message?

Hi,

I am working on my hosts.deny / hosts.allow configs.  According to the man 
pages, I should be able to add a third field ( : ) that executes a /bin/sh 
script.

when i add something like ...

in.telnetd: ALL except .ghpcpa.com : /bin/mail -s intruder_alert davep

to the hosts.deny file,  the denial occurs fine when i come in from 
outside, but the mail message is never sent (?) any ideas?
