[CLUE-Tech] Debian startx, kde,

The line between Enlightenment and Gnome and KDE et al is a very fuzzy one.
But I think Gnome runs in conjunction with a window manager as it's widgets
or part of them or something.... Please correct me if I'm wrong on this
because I've tried to sort it out for myself and this is what I arrived at.
So I will be so bold as to say that what I think I hear you saying is you
probably want KDE rather than Enlightenment to run from startx. Yes?

The .xinitrc and .xsession files in your home directory control what window
manager is ran from startx or xdm respectively. Xdm is what is ran for a run
level in initab that includes X11. It's probably nearly the last line, if
not the last line, in either of those files.
