John,
Are you upgrading from a CD? If so there is a directory called install.
Inside that you will find a utility called rawrite and images for a root disk
and a rescue(boot) disk. Run, with a blank unmounted floppy in /dev/fd0
(1.44) "dd if=/rescue.bin of=/dev/fd0 bs=1k" do the same with a second
diskette and the root.bin file and you now have a set of Debian Boot/Root
floppies for 2.2. Debian also copies these and several other images to your
disk during install. I can't say where because I'm not running it currently.
If upgrading from an FTP site, you should also be able to find those images
out there.
