Apparently, I can erase a disk using cdrecord in command-line mode. I wonder why that capability wasn't
incorporated into the xcdroast front-end.

You will probably have to do an erase before you can write to it again.  I 
don't know which utilities will do that.


Also, I can't seem to write to a CD-RW disk that has already been written 
to. Is this a normal shortcoming of the software,
