Some of the discussion I read on this topic reminded me of the paper on
"Recognition versus Recollection" that someone posted the link to a while
back (here or at BLUG, can't remember).

The paper discusses why CLI's are more useful to some and GUI's more useful
to others (or something along those lines - it's been a while since I read
it).
