[CLUE-Tech] LILO on fragile flies

Hi Liz,
Try this:
# Windows stanza
other=/dev/hdb1
table=/dev/hdb
label=WIN
# End Windows stanza
The difference is pointing other to /dev/hdb1 rather than /dev/hdb, and
the table line. In the global section (before your linux and win
sections) make sure you have boot=/dev/hda. The above comes from the
multi-boot with lilo howto. There, it seems to indicate that you should
have table=/dev/hda for Win running off /dev/hdb1. Based on the man
page, I think this is incorrect but if you still can't boot Win, try hda
in the table line.
I think that should do it, unless something is wrong with your Win
install. We can work around that, but I'll wait to see if the above
works before suggesting anything.
Finally, remember to run /sbin/lilo after you change lilo.conf, replace
your kernel, or change the partitions on any device mentioned in a table
line. You should see a message about your boot options with a star
indicating the default. If you get an error, don't reboot until lilo
runs successfully (or make sure you have a boot floppy handy).
