Maybe it didn't sell well and it's been remaindered. If a tech
book doesn't sell well after about a year, it goes off to the
discount aisle to die. Most tech books have a retail life span
of less than two years. There are some "classic" books that
have a longer life-span, but the vast majority are written to
be disposable.
You might look at Barnes & Noble, Tattered Cover and/or Microcenter.
I seem to recall picking one up pretty cheap. Oddly, Barnes & Noble
online has the first edition available, but not the second.
