Mike:

It sounds like their patch may not have the appropriate dependency
information for the configuration system.  I know it sounds painful, but
try a "make mrproper; make *config"
and see if the options don't pop up.

If your kernel builds take a long time, you can back up the entire tree
first in case this 
doesn't work.

PS:  *config for you own config preference.
