I have been using VMWare 2.x for about a year to run NT under Linux. It works just great. However, I don't really have much use for it since my desktop machine runs Linux exclusively. IE works, PC/Anywhere VPN works. I only used PowerDesigner on the NT side.
The only nuisance I found was the CD-ROM (on audio) was high-jacked by VMWare and given to NT. The Linux CD players are way better than Losedoze ones.
A co-worker installed VMWare and ran the PC/Anywhere VPN client which has a tendency to blow away the NT file system. If you have a backup of the NT file system (one file on the Linux host), just restore it any you can work again. Saves days of re-installing NT and all the software.
