Barebones Systems are the way to go. They already have the case and the cpu
and the motherboard wired. Just add memory, harddrive, CDROM, DVD, FLoppy
and your flavor of Linux and your ready to Rock and roll. Make shure your
check a Linux hardware compatiblity list first. Suse has nice one and I
think Linux.com has one. Right now I am designing a four node Beowulf
cluster running probably four 1.4 GIG Athlons Tbirds with the moma node
running 100Gig HD 7200RPM IBM disk with maybe ONe GIG of memory. The rest of
the slaves will be toned down to 500GIG of memory with 20Gig Disks. We will
see how the real budget comes out.
