[CLUE-Tech] wall--router--eth1

If the windows machine is beyond the hub, then the IP of eth1 on Linux
will be it's default gateway(router).   The linux firewall will have
A.B.C.D as it's defaultrouter.

Setting eth0 on the Linux box to 10.0.0.2 is fine, if A.B.C.D is
10.0.0.1  

Are you saying that you hook a windows box up to the Cisco to see what
IP it is giving out?  if that is the case, then yes, A.B.C.D is
10.0.0.1 and you can set Linux to 10.0.0.2, or you can let it get it
via DHCP.  

You don't need PPP at all, if you have further questions, be sure to
mention what Distribution you are running.
