Yeah, you should be able to set the eth0 to 10.0.0.2-254 with a gateway of
10.0.0.1. You should not need to use anything but straight tcp/ip
networking, in other words no PPP. Are you having trouble making it work?

I've got a networking question . . .
                                          _________
                                         | Firewall|
                                         | |
                                         | L |
-- ___________ | I | _____
W| | | W.X.Y.Z|e N e| | |
A|____________| Cisco 678 |______________|t U t|192.168.__| Hub |
L| 63.27.30.5|___________|A.B.C.D |h X h| |_____|
L| |0 1|
-- | |
                                         | |
                                         |_________|

I've got a dynamic IP through Qwest, although it's static right now at
63.217.30.5 (I understand they stay static for a while, at least long enough
to set things up).

I used winipcfg on my Windows box to determine that the Ethernet card on my
Windows box has an IP address of 10.0.0.2 and it's gateway is 10.0.0.1.
Otherwise, ignore the Windows box.

Does this mean that A.B.C.D is 10.0.0.1?

Will things work smoothly if I set W.X.Y.Z to 10.0.0.2? I should set the
default gateway for the Linux firewall to 10.0.0.1? Do I need PPP (assuming
my external IP address is static)?

Thanks!
