There was a thread on SCMs a little while back, including mentions of cvs,
subversion, and a third (shell wrappers around c...) that I cannot recall.

Someone may be interested in http://www.vestasys.org/, it has been GPLd by
compaq and was apparently used on by the alpha developers in production.

On a competely different note, there was a thread awhile back about
talking to MS SQL servers from linux - there is an article on a perl
module for this in the latest Linux Journal; I got it in the mail this
weekend, I suspect it would hit the shelves in a couple more weeks.
