I agree.. if the content is sufficiently trimmed, bottom or top-post should 
not be an issue.  Personally, I am usually following the threads so the reply 
will make sense to me 99% of the time.. The other 1%, I scroll down for a 
refresher..  Having to re-read the old msgs before I get to the reply is 
somewhat annoying to me.

It's a matter of preference, I think..  One could argue it either way.
