[CLUE-Tech] Motherboard Recommendations

Normally I like ASUS boards, but have had problems in the past with
their AMD line. Not to mention, they pulled it for a while when Intel
threatened to 'slow down' their supply of Intel chips unless ASUS did
what they wanted. (For a while, ASUS was one of the largest
manufacturers of mainboards in the world making their own lines as well
as products for quite a large number of other companies.)

I'm a big MSI fan for AMD products. Always work well, the D Bracket is
VERY COOL (D-Bracket is a set of Diagnostic LEDs that sit next to the
extra USB connections. They give you POST code output equivalency based
on the LED pattern. Very nice for diagnosing boot problems and you
don't have to pay for a POST card.) I've never had a problem with MSI
boards running well under Linux at all. We've built quite a few Linux
machines and prefer MSI for the mainboards.
