It's not distributing to the mirrors that's killing it, it's the piles of
people all trying to download from the mirrors.  Most of the mirrors
actually were updated last week with the bits, just set with permissions
taht didn't allow anyone to download them...  That's why usually about a
week before the final release you'll see that mirrors start getting an
"8.0" directory with mode "000".

At the NCLUG meeting tonight in Fort Collins, Evelyn will be there with her
laptop loaded with the ISOs and there's going to be a 100mbps switch.
Thursday in Boulder, Kevin will have the ISOs on his laptop at Hacking
Society (hackingsociety.org).  It takes about 4 minutes to download an ISO
at 100mbps.
