I use an 8 port Belkin. 4 machines with windoz and 4 with RedHat. I have
not experienced the problem you seem to have. I do note a couple of other
problems related.

1) When I get hyper and switch between machines, and have my hand on
the mouse and move it to soon after the switch is complete, the keyboard
and mouse are locked. The Belkin has a reset, activated by pressing both
front panel switches simultaneously, that generally solves this problem. If
not the NT / 2000 machines will need to be rebooted. (Happens very rarely).

2) I do note that the keyboard control to wake up the Belkin (2 quick
scroll lock hits) sometimes pauses the RedHat console. I then have to
switch back to the machine and give it a single Scroll Lock to get it to
take off. This especially happens at shutdown time.

3) I have an older Belkin attached to some older versions of FreeBSD.
With this setup I cannot use the keyboard to change machines. They lock up
all the time. Fortunately they are very stable and their use as servers
require very little console intervention.
