Mozilla uses SMTP to send email.  There's an outgoing server setting in 
the config and Mozilla talks SMTP to that machine.  Possibly Mozilla is 
talking to the Win box directly and Sendmail isn't involved.

The mail command invokes sendmail directly and communicates with it 
through the filesystem.

The other possibility is what has been said about sending to an IP 
address.  Can the mail command send to user at winserver01?
