[CLUE-Tech] Win4Lin vs. CrossOver vs. VMWare

In my opinion your answer depends on your application.  The major
difference being in the ability to run any OS, Windows or otherwise.  If
the ability to run any program (with some reservations due to hardware)
and also run the actual OS is not important, then VMWare is probably
overkill.  
I do support, so having the ability to pull up a Windows NT, or a
Windows 2k, or a Windows XP session is extremely valuable to me.  I need
the ability to mimic what my user is doing.  Without actually having the
OS that can't be done.  However, if all I want to do is say run M$
Office, then CrossOver is good enough.
