Hmmm. I didn't notice that as a default on my recent install. Maybe coz
mine was an upgrade?

BTW, I notice that "en_US" causes funny sort behavior, such as ignoring
periods. If you want the regular ASCII collating sequence for sorts, use
LC_COLLATE="C".
