Well, that depends. If you want to install the font _only_ for OpenOffice,
you can do it using the /path/to/openoffice/programs/spadmin program, but
I I'm uncertain whether it works for both X and TTF fonts.

But I think it's using too many steps, because IIRC, OpenOffice will use
anything supplied by X, so there isn't any need to "double install", as
the article indicates. The main thing is that whatever directory you place
the font files in, you then need to run mkfontscale and mkfontdir for that
directory, which you can usually do by cd'ing to that directory and
issuing both commands with no parameters (again, IIRC -- I haven't gone
through it for a while). And also add that directory to your X font path,
if it isn't already there.

And, as long as you're looking at your XF86Config file, make sure the
freetype module is being loaded.

Off the top of my head, I don't know where you'll find the font files, but
there's tons of font repositories available on the web.
