[CLUE-Tech] SouthWest Denver Hacking Society

OK. Well, it sounds like this just might be headed somewhere
interesting.

If anyone in the South West Denver area wants to get together for a
hacking session a couple of times a month, let's start laying some
plans before my enthusiasm wanes or my sanity returns.

1) Why?

To get together to hack on code and build some projects. Sean (AKA
Jafo) suggested the www.hackingsociety.org site could use some work.
This is as good of a project as any (probably better than most).

2) Who?

Anyone interested in hacking on projects. Does not need to be the
same project. Can be anything really. Think of the meetings as a mix
of brainstorming, mentoring, learning, and good old BSing.

I would really like to be inclusive of all abilities and skill sets.
The only emphasis I would make would be on UNIX. I know Linux best
and that is where I like to hack with. But, it is a free country (for
now).

3) Where?

Good question. I would like to keep the venue South of 6th Ave and
West Broadway (but not strictly so). For that matter, I could
probably do this at my office for the first couple of meetings. (The
office is near Santa Fe and Belleview. I will have to check on this
first, but it should not be a big deal. We could probably have around
six to ten people, but not many more.

Other venues we might consider would be the Columbine Library. They
have Internet access but not necessarily WiFi. Does anyone know if
the meeting rooms have net access?

A WiFi equipped coffee shop. I have not looked into this option
much. Honestly, I have only used my connection at my house and my
brother's apartment. Higher Grounds in Golden is a possibility though
it is a little far north (but not unreasonably so).

I could ask some people I know at the Colorado School of Mines (in Golden).

Others?

4) When?

So what sort of schedule could we setup? I like every other Tuesday
from say 19:00 to 21:00.

As a final note, I like the meeting format to be civil anarchy. We
might have some plans just to kick things off, but I hope the meetings
will have a life of their own.
