My two cents worth.
I'm always interested in increasing my knowledge of Linux
and if we could find a place (I also prefer the South-side),
I would like to participate.

I would welcome a project(s) where I could not only attempt
to
contribute/mentor but also get help answering my "next
questions".
As I still consider myself a newbie, I could still learn by
doing installations
of distributions (like at installfests) but working on
projects would be of
more value. Does a project instead of installs preclude us
newbies -
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Experience is the best teacher and exposure
beyond installations will generate questions that us
newbie's don't even
know that we have to ask. Heaven knows I have my share -
DNS,
SAMBA, TCP/IP, Apache, PHP, etc.

I agree, but want to be leary of the idea of people getting
off into
"side groups". Somehow, if some "recap" of "lessons
learned" could
be conducted at the end of the get together, I think it
would be
beneficial.

Sean (AKA

some work.
