I don't think so... I don't think /etc/aliases allows users to log in 
via their alias by any method, does it?  I think I tried this a while back.

For example I would want sales at domain1.com delivering mail to user1837, 
but when someone tries to retrieve mail via pop, they use 
'sales at domain1.com' as their username, not 'user1837'.  In fact 
'user1837' is completely transparent to this user.  As far as they are 
concerned, they are just sales at domain1.com with a password.
