Has anyone tried to compile framebuffer support into a 2.6 kernel? I'm trying to get full use of the 15 inch screen on my HP laptop while in text mode, and I have not been able to get framebuffer to work. LDP's HOWTO on this is ancient, 2.2 kernel and doesn't seem to match the 2.6 kernel.
