Unless you're using something like NIS+ (ick... ewww!) to map things, or other 
tools, NFS maps the UID's and GID's straight through from one machine to 
another.  So all your machines have to match up UID/GID-wise or you'll go 
nuts figuring out permission problems.  ;-)
