[CLUE-Tech] Floppy Drive woes and SuSE

I just recently (yesterday) reinstalled SuSE 9.1 and suddenly my
Floppy has ceased to work.

More accurately, it can be mounted, and the system recognizes the
drive. However whenever I attempt to read from or write to the drive,
it just spins and spins and spins until eventually I am blessed with a
'No Media Found' response. If I eject the floppy while it's spinning
I'll get the same response immediately, so I know the system
recognizes the drive and when there's a physical disc in the drive. I
can just no long read or write.

The drive was working fine on my previous install of SuSE, and
continues to work in Windows. I've also checked the integrity of a
disc on another machine to verify it's contents. The problem persists
whether I'm logged in as Root or as a user. I've also found the same
results whether from a terminal, or with a filemanager in both KDE and
Gnome.

Here the entry in my /etc/fstab...(which I doubt is the problem)
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs fs=floppyfss,procuid,nodev,nosuid,sync 0 0

Any ideas?
