[clue-tech] command line mail fetcher

Is there any command-line command which will allow me to retrieve mail 
from pop and dump it into an mbox?  I thought fetchmail would do this, 
but as it turns out it's really a way to forward mail by SMTP.  I want 
something that would basically work like a regular mail agent like 
mozilla to retrieve pop mail, only that can be run from the command line 
so I can have it run in the background every so often.

Any ideas?
