I believe the limit for 10base2 is 185 meters, you probably got 50 from
50-ohm, the terminators.  Those were the days ;)

10 base is the speed, and the 2 is for 2 wire. The limit is 50 meters, 
but if all the cabling is clean and you have good terminators, I have 
people cheat on the length by a few yards.
