We are huge fans of Amavisd-new here at Samsung.  But I Think you are right,
Mailscanner seems to have a few more "nice" features.
Amavisd-new has never died on us, in the two years we have had it in
production.  Installation is well documented, and the support group is well
staffed.  As for Mailscanner, I can't offer an opinion.
